With almost a quarter million people, Arlington is the 99th largest city in the country and one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in America. Indeed, Arlington is large and thriving – and it’s also young. On average, the median age in a US City is 38; in Arlington, the median age is just 34, a full 11 percent younger than the rest of the country.

Arlington is home to many major attractions, Universities, and landmarks. Hundreds of thousands of people flock to the Potomac River every year, or take a tour bus to the Pentagon. Arlington continues to draw in more new residents each year; many more than it says goodbye to. In 2019, the average home in the city sells for about $610,000, which is about four times the national median home sale price. Many of Arlington’s homes are historic, which adds charm for some and deters others.

Almost every night of the week, great live music ranging from Rock to Jazz can be found all over town. Galaxy Hut is a popular spot for larger, out of state bands, featuring a huge dance floor, specialty craft beers on tap, and a vegetarian-friendly menu. Samuel Beckett’s has acoustic guitar-playing Irish balladeers and amazing food. Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill, Rustico, or Highline RxR are a few more well- reviewed music joints.

With a rich military history in Arlington, the Army Ten-Miler has become a major attraction in Arlington. This is the third largest 10 mile road race in the world, and it benefits soldiers and their families.
